Meet Cassie Mayer, our 2024 Book Fair Intern
We are pleased to introduce Cassandra (Cassie) Mayer, our Arts Marketing and Communication Intern for the 2024 Northampton Book Fair.
Cassie is in the Master's in Community Planning and Development graduate program at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. She will be writing for our blog, posting to social media, interviewing exhibitors, and helping to find new ways to reach out to long-time and new book fair attendees. Expect to be hearing frequently from Cassie over the next two months. She'll also be helping out at the book fair in November, assisting at the admissions table, selling tickets, troubleshooting, and coordinating with exhibitors to ensure a safe and successful fair for booksellers, ephemera specialists, and book artists.
During the summer of 2023, Cassie was a Greenhouse Apprentice at O, Miami, Inc., a program for inter-disciplinary creatives, ages 18 to 25, to pursue personal creative endeavors in close collaboration with an assigned mentor in Florida, as well as planning community programming with an emphasis on poetry.
She has a BA in English and Spanish from Clark University. A skilled writer and editor, Cassie was co-editor in chief and co-founder of "The Hawthorne Review" literary journal at Clark. She's a fiction writer, artist, and entrepreneur. She's had two pieces of fiction published: "The Aracane and the Absurd" (Roifaineant Press) and "I Do Not Know" (Bottlecap Press).
